In the pursuit of relaxation and serenity, tea has been used as the medium for such journeys for thousands of years. Tea itself is not just a soothing drink, but a rich experience in history, in self-reflection, and in exploration. There is a tea for everyone, for all cultures, and for all levels of enthusiasm. Tea means that first step on a long hike, the first mile on a road trip, that sense of calm during mediation. Tea causes my time to stop, and to be at peace with the world.

The familiarity of holding a cup of tea gives me a sense of peace and helps me to slow down, to think clearly. It gives me comfort on days that I need it. It reminds me of my Mom and brings back memories of tea parties and tea shops. It fosters deep conversation among sisters, among friends. It makes me wonder about the place where the tea was harvested, the person who plucked it, and the process that it went through to finally arrive in my cup. Drinking tea never gets old, never becomes a stagnant experience. This past year, I've been exploring different teas and just started my foray into green tea, keeping little notes on each cup in a journal. The new flavors and aromas make such a familiar ritual fresh and unique.
