A fragrant, sweet and versatile syrup that adds a rich vanilla flavour to tea, coffee, cocktails and other drinks. This easy vanilla simple syrup recipe can be ready in just minutes and made with vanilla beans or vanilla extract.
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine granulated sugar and water. Stirring until sugar dissolves completely.
Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove the saucepan from the heat. Add vanilla and stir.
Let the vanilla simple syrup cool then pour it into an airtight container. Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 month. If you are using vanilla bean paste or pods to make this syrup, the vanilla flecks may settle to the bottom of the container over time so it is recommended to stir or shake before using.
