Tuna Tea Sandwiches

These dainty tuna tea sandwiches are bright, creamy and excellent for tea time. This recipe is more than just canned tuna fish and mayo. The addition of celery adds a pop of green and a refreshing crunch.

Ingredients
  

  • 6 slices of white bread
  • 1 can of tuna 170 grams, flaked or chunk
  • 1 tablespoon red onion finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon celery finely diced
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Drain the can of tuna and add it to a small mixing bowl. Combine with finely chopped red onion, celery, mayonnaise, mustard, salt and pepper.
  • Spread 1/3 of the tuna mixture on a slice of bread and top it with another bread slice to close the sandwich. Repeat this step with the other slices of bread to form 3 sandwiches.
  • With a serrated knife, remove the crust and cut each tuna tea sandwich into 3 rectangles. This recipe makes 9 finger sandwiches which is great to serve 3-4 people.
  • If desired, garnish with celery leaves. Serve the tuna tea sandwiches immediately with tea!
