Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons loose leaf green tea or 2 tea bags
  • ¾ cup hot water under boiling (80°C/175°F)
  • 3 tablespoons mint simple syrup
  • Fresh mint leaves and sprig, for garnish
  • ice

Instructions

  • Steep green tea (loose leaf or tea bags) in hot water for 3 minutes.
  • 2. Strain the loose leaf tea or remove the tea bags after steeping. Let cool, then cover and chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour. You can make
homemade mint simple syrup during this wait.

To assemble the mint iced tea:

  • In a glass, add mint simple syrup, ice and 4 fresh mint leaves. Crush or muddle the mint leaves before adding them to the glass. This will help them release their oils and be more flavourful.
  • Fill the glass with the chilled green tea. Stir to combine before serving or enjoying. If desired, garnish the glass with a sprig of mint.
