Matcha Chai Latte (Hot or Iced)

You no longer have to ever decide between a matcha latte or a chai latte. Instead, combine the 2 teas to make 1 amazing beverage! A matcha chai latte is an intriguing blend of powdered green tea and spiced black tea. It can be enjoyed hot or iced.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon matcha
  • ¼ cup cold water
  • ¼ cup chai concentrate*
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ice
  • ground cinnamon or cinnamon stick for garnish

Instructions

FOR ICED MATCHA CHAI LATTE

  • Sift matcha into a bottle or jar that has a tight lid. Add cold water, seal and shake until the matcha is smooth with no clumps. This may take about 15-20 seconds.
  • In a glass with ice, add chai concentrate. Pour milk over the ice then the cold brew matcha.
  • Garnish the matcha chai latte with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon or a cinnamon stick. Stir to combine before drinking!

FOR HOT MATCHA CHAI LATTE

  • The ingredients are the same for this hot version, except no ice or cold water is required.
  • In a small saucepan, heat up the chai concentrate then add to a mug. If the chai concentrate is not sweetened, add a teaspoon of sugar or another sweetener of your choice here.
  • Sift matcha into a mug. Add the hot chai concentrate and whisk together until smooth. You can use a handheld frother or bamboo whisk.
  • Heat and froth milk until it has almost doubled in volume. Top mug with frothed milk.
  • Sprinkle ground cinnamon on top before enjoying it!

Notes
