Ingredients

  • 1-2 tablespoons pumpkin spice syrup*
  • 1 teaspoon hojicha powder
  • ½ cup hot water under boiling, ~90 degrees Celsius
  • ¼ cup milk of choice

Instructions

  • 1. In a mug, add 1-2 tablespoons of pumpkin spice syrup. If you would like more pumpkin flavour and sweetness you can add more syrup.
  • 2. In a separate bowl, sift hojicha powder. This will remove any clumps, making it easier to achieve a smooth taste. Add hot water to the bowl and whisk. You can whisk hojicha powder with a bamboo whisk or handheld frother. If you do not have any of these items you can also use a standard kitchen whisk.
  • 3. Pour the whisked hojicha tea in the mug with the pumpkin spice syrup. Stir to combine.
  • 4. Heat and froth milk of choice until it has doubled in volume.
  • 5. Pour the frothed milk in the mug with the pumpkin spice hojicha until full.
  • 6. If desired, sprinkle cinnamon on top of the latte before serving or enjoying!

Notes

For an Iced Pumpkin Spice Hojicha Latte: Add 1-2 tablespoons of the pumpkin spice syrup to a glass. Fill the glass with ice, pour whisked hojicha and milk. Stir to combine. Top with whipped cream and ground spices, if desired.
