pumpkin spice syrup recipe

Pumpkin Spice Syrup (for tea and coffee)

This simple syrup is an easy way to make pumpkin spice lattes with tea and coffee. Made with real pumpkin and pumpkin pie spices, the taste is absolutely delicious. Transform drinks for the fall season with just 1 or 2 tablespoons.
Cook Time 8 minutes
Total Time 8 minutes
Servings 1 cup

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup pumpkin puree fresh or canned (not pumpkin pie filling)
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 cup water
  • ¾ cup white granulated sugar

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, add the pumpkin puree, ground cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and cloves. Mix and cook for about 1 minute to remove the raw pumpkin taste.
  • Add water and sugar to the saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally to make sure the sugar dissolves and pumpkin puree is blended in.
  • Remove from heat. Pour through a fine mesh strainer and into an airtight container like a glass jar or bottle. The strainer will help remove any sediments from the pumpkin spice simple syrup, if needed.
  • Let cool then seal and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

How to use this syrup: Flavour and sweeten, tea, coffee, lattes, cocktails and more by using 1-2 tablespoons per 1 cup. Adjust to taste.
Shake the bottle before using as the real pumpkin may settle at the bottom.
