  • Bread: Soft white bread works best for these tea sandwiches. The slices should not be too thick.
  • Cream Cheese: I like to use plain cream cheese. This provides a slight tang that contrasts with the sweet strawberries.
  • Strawberries: Use fresh strawberries and slice them very thin. Pat the strawberry slices with a paper towel prior to using to prevent sogginess.

Can I make strawberry tea sandwiches ahead of time?

These strawberry tea sandwiches are best fresh that is why I recommend serving and enjoying them right after you make them. Luckily, they only take a few minutes to put together!

How do I keep my sandwiches from getting soggy?

If you are eating these tea sandwiches shortly after assembling them, they should not get soggy. However, to ensure you avoid this, use a paper towel to pat the strawberry slices so you can remove some excess juice.

What tea pairs well with strawberry tea sandwiches?

Light black teas and floral teas like Darjeeling or chamomile complement the sweet and juicy flavours. Same goes for delicate white teas. Cacao tea is also a tasty option as it gives you the classic chocolate strawberry combination.
