Are you looking for a new winter or holiday drink? This white chocolate peppermint tea latte combines the soothing flavours of tea, creamy white chocolate syrup and cooling peppermint for a dreamy treat.
White Chocolate Peppermint Tea Latte
I can’t guarantee that this White Chocolate Peppermint Tea Latte will bring a little extra magic to those chilly days, but it is definitely worth trying!
I wanted a festive tea latte that was lighter and caffeine-free but just as indulgent as black tea lattes or even coffee-based ones. That’s how this fun blend of peppermint herbal tea, white chocolate and milk came to life.
This latte is the perfect balance of sweetness and refreshment, combining the richness of melted white chocolate with the cool, minty notes of peppermint.
My favourite way to describe this tea latte is that it tastes like a winter wonderland in a cup!
Ingredient Notes
This recipe uses just a handful ingredients, including a syrup that you can make at home or buy in-store. Here is what you will need:
- Peppermint Tea: Tea bags are great to use for this latte but you can also use loose leaf peppermint tea.
- Water: Since peppermint is an herbal tea, it should be steeped in freshly boiled water.
- White Chocolate Syrup: This recipes uses my homemade white chocolate syrup. You can also use store-bought if you have that already.
- Milk: Use any type of milk that you enjoy, but keep in mind that some milks froth better than others if you’re making this hot and not iced.
- Whipped Cream & Crushed Peppermint Candy Pieces: Top the drink and then garnish!
Step-by-Step Instructions
Ingredient measurements and full directions are in the printable recipe card below.
In a mug, steep peppermint tea in freshly boiled water for 5-7 minutes. Cover the herbal tea while it is steeping to ensure it steeps properly with full flavour.
Strain loose tea leaves or remove tea bags, depending on what you used. Add white chocolate syrup to the mug of peppermint tea and stir until well combined. Adjust the amount to taste.
Heat and froth milk of your choice. Add the milk froth to the mug with some whipped cream on top. Sprinkle with crushed peppermint candy pieces for garnish. Enjoy!

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make an iced white chocolate peppermint tea latte instead?
Yes. To make this as an iced latte, add white chocolate syrup to a serving glass. Fill the glass with ice and then add cooled steeped peppermint tea and cold milk. Do not heat or froth the milk for the iced version. Top the glass with whipped cream and crushed peppermint candies.
Is this tea latte caffeinated?
Peppermint tea is naturally caffeine-free, therefore, this latte is not caffeinated. If you were to use a different type of tea like a peppermint flavoured black tea or green tea, then it would be caffeinated.
Can I make this tea latte dairy-free or vegan?
Absolutely! Use a plant-based milk option like oat milk when assembling this latte. Also, make sure to use a dairy-free white chocolate syrup so it is vegan friendly.
