Gingerbread lattes are often made with coffee or espresso. But, if that’s not your thing then you’ve come to the right place! I like to make mine with a black tea instead.

This gingerbread tea latte recipe is still strong and caffeinated but is made for a tea drinker. One sip of it is like dunking a gingerbread cookie into a warm cup of tea. Divine!

Ingredient Notes

  • Black Tea: My favourite black teas to use for this latte is something bold like Orange Pekoe, Ceylon, Assam or even a breakfast tea blend.
  • Water: The water should be freshly boiled to properly steep the black tea.
  • Gingerbread Syrup: I use my homemade gingerbread syrup in this latte. It is very flavourful — sweet, rich and spicy.
  • Milk: I like to use dairy or oat milk, but any type of milk works.
  • Whipped Cream & Crushed Gingerbread Cookies: These are optional, but topping the latte with these items gives you the true cafe experience!

How to Make Gingerbread Syrup

You do not need to buy gingerbread syrup because you can make it at home for a fraction of the price and it tastes great! Simply heat equal parts water and brown sugar with molasses and spices.
