Ingredient Notes
Just 5 simple ingredients are needed for this recipe!
– Water
The correct ratio for most simple syrup recipes is 1 part water to 1 part sugar.
– Sugar
Granulated white sugar is used for this simple syrup recipe as it gives it more of a sugar cookie feel.
– Extracts
The flavours for this simple syrup are all thanks to 3 extracts:
- Vanilla Extract: Pure vanilla extract will give the best results for the sugar cookie taste, but if you only have imitation vanilla you can use that as well.
- Butter Extract: As expected, this gives the cookie syrup a buttery taste. If you can not find any in-store see how to make your own butter extract here.
- Almond Extract: A small amount of almond extract goes a long way as you don’t want an overpowering nutty flavour for this syrup. If nut allergies are a concern you can omit this extract.
