In case you didn’t notice from the strawberry themed recipes on the blog lately, I can’t get enough of strawberries during this time of year! Once I make a batch of strawberry simple syrup, it is great to use for strawberry tea lattes, iced teas and even milk teas. This gorgeous light pink tea drink is ready in minutes using real strawberries and no special tools. It can be made a few different ways — with black tea or green tea and with or without tapioca pearls.
What is Strawberry Milk Tea?
Strawberry Milk Tea is a combination of strawberry simple syrup, milk and tea. You can easily turn this iced beverage into a Strawberry Bubble Tea by adding tapioca pearls, too.
This drink highlights the flavours of sweet, juicy strawberries with a milky base that makes this like a strawberries and cream dessert. There’s no actual cream in this recipe, so it’s more light and refreshing — not heavy.
The flavours of the tea in this milk tea are very light, but help to balance the sweetness and also add some caffeine.
Strawberry Milk Tea Ingredient Notes
Loose Leaf Tea or Tea Bags
This recipe uses either green tea or black tea. You decide! Just make sure to follow the proper steeping instructions based on the type of tea.
Hot Water
The exact temperature of the water depends on if you are using green tea or black tea. See recipe card at the end of this post for tips.
Strawberry Simple Syrup
This homemade fruit simple syrup is the main star! It is what gives this milk tea the strong strawberry flavour, sweetness and lovely light pink colour. You could buy this ingredient at the store, but it’s simple enough to make at home and can be done while the tea is chilling!
Milk
Use whichever type of milk you prefer! You can make a dairy-free Strawberry Milk Tea by using your favourite milk alternative.
Fresh Strawberries
Diced strawberries are added to the base of the milk tea and a whole strawberry is added to the rim of the glass for garnish.

About a handful per serving.
