Jasmine Milk Tea

When jasmine flowers are infused with tea the enchanting fragrance makes it a wonderful drink during the spring time! I typically like to enjoy jasmine tea on its own, but it’s also a great base for milk tea. This light and sweet jasmine milk tea recipe is made with a delicate jasmine green tea, sugar and milk. The soft floral flavour is balanced by the creaminess. It is ridiculously easy to make as it only requires a few simple ingredients and no fancy equipment. Also, you can adjust it to your liking and make it hot or iced.

About Jasmine Green Tea

jasmine green tea

Jasmine green tea is a clean tasting and floral tea with a perfumed aroma. This tea can be made a few different ways.

Jasmine flowers are dainty, white and very fragrant. The fresh flowers can be placed in a warm room with the green tea leaves to absorb the floral essences.

Alternatively, green tea leaves can just be blended with jasmine flowers or flavouring.

There can be quite a difference when comparing a flavoured jasmine green tea with one that is scented with real jasmine flowers. I recommend trying a few to decide what you prefer.

Jasmine tea can be made with green, white or black tea leaves. This particular milk tea recipe uses green tea leaves, though.

Tips & Tricks

Follow the recommended steeping instructions. Jasmine green tea is delicate and should be steeped in water that is heated to 80 degrees Celsius or 176 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately 3 minutes. If the tea is steeped too long or the water is too hot it may burn the tea leaves and result in a bitter tasting tea.

Chill the tea before putting everything together. To ensure the drink doesn’t get watered down too quickly from the ice, don’t assemble when the tea is still hot.

Add tapioca pearls, if desired. If you would prefer to make bubble tea, you can simply add boba to the glass before everything else. Learn how to make tapioca pearls at home here.
