National Tea Holidays to Celebrate Throughout the Year

Tea is a daily routine for many tea lovers. We don’t necessarily need a designated day of the year as an excuse to drink tea. But, it is still a fun way to honour our favourite beverage and see others enjoying it more than usual, too. Similar to food holidays, there are several national tea holidays created around the world. They seem to be getting more popular as time goes by, too. Some tea dates are more general and some are geared towards a specific tea. Tea drinkers, bloggers and business owners should be aware of most of these dates. This way you will never run out of inspiration for your daily cup of tea, content ideas and marketing! To help you easily find all tea days of the year, here is a complete list as well as a few celebration ideas.

5 Ways to Celebrate National Tea Holidays

In just a few moments you’ll have a list of many dates made for a tea lover like yourself.

Then, you’ll ask yourself an important question…

“How do I celebrate?”

Well, here are some ways to enjoy the national tea dates listed below.

1. Invite a friend or family member over for tea.

Tea is meant to be shared. Plus, it always tastes better when it’s enjoyed with someone you love.

Use a fun tea holiday as an opportunity to get together with your closest family members or friends and connect over a pot of tea. This is a great time to introduce them to your favourite teas if you haven’t already.

If you’re hosting a tea party on a day like National Cream Tea Day, make sure you have scones to serve as well!

2. Try something new in the tea world.

Some national tea holidays are for a specific tea or tea related activities. On those days, steep and sip the exact teas to celebrate.

If the teas are not new to you, find a different way to drink it. For example, on National Chai Day make chai infused desserts or make bubble tea with your favourite tea for National Bubble Tea Day!

3. Expand your tea knowledge.

One of the many wonderful things about tea is that there is so much to learn. In fact, you’re never truly done learning about the leaf.

If you want to discover more things about your favourite beverage consider enrolling in a tea course. There are some extensive tea programs available that will even offer you a certificate in the end.

However, there are quite a few tea courses online that are more informal but can definitely still help you study tea.

You can also start small by reading a few educational tea books on your own time.

4. Learn more about the tea you are drinking.

Not every tea related holiday is made just for an excuse to stock up on great tea sales and get tea drunk.

It’s important to know more details about the tea you are drinking on any given day, but International Tea Day is an example of a day that originated for this reason. The purpose is to spread awareness about the tea workers’ contributions and their working conditions.

Take time to learn more about what goes on behind the scenes of getting those tea leaves to you and your cup. Research where your tea came from and what the working situations are like for those on that farm. Use this as an opportunity to educate fellow tea drinkers as well.

5. Support a small tea business!

Visit a local tea business near you and treat yourself to some new teas and teaware. If there are no tea shops close to where you live, shop online.

Shop with your go-to small tea business or find a new one to try. Depending on the day, you may find special discounts, too!

Supporting a business doesn’t necessarily mean you need to spend money though. If you have had a great experience with a few different tea shops over the years, leave a positive online review so other tea drinkers know what to expect. Plus, you’ll totally make the owner’s day!
