These scones came out SO super fluffy! They are incredibly easy to make, and I usually have all the necessary ingredients in my pantry. Happy to bookmark this one to use again and again!

Hi Lisa, sorry to hear that! If it tastes like baking powder then that may be the culprit. If the baking powder isn’t sifted and mixed well with the other dry ingredients that could cause any sour/bitter bites. Are you noticing any white clumps in the scones too? It may be worth checking if the baking powder you're using is still active, too.

I've never been to the UK, so I can't say if this tastes like a proper scone. This recipe is amazing!! I have made it 4 times this week. The scones go amazing with a cup of Yorkshire tea and milk!! I did increase the sugar to 4 tbsp (or 1/4 cup). I can't get clotted cream here, but they are incredible with some jam, honey or even with nothing on top. Thank you for this recipe!

That's so great to hear. Thank you for letting me know and sharing scones with your friends! I have doubled this recipe in the past but I don't think it's at its best then. Unfortunately, I have not tried this recipe with GF flour, so I am unable to comment on that.
