T By Daniel – Brampton, Ontario

After years of drinking their tea and falling in love with their brand on social media, I finally got a chance to pop into T By Daniel’s storefront. It was early 2018 when T By Daniel moved their fun tea shop from downtown Brampton to the Bramalea City Centre Mall. Slight re-branding came with the new location, but T by Daniel kept their same great tea blends. They even added a few more products to their shop. I was excited about the location change because it is much closer to family that I visit in Brampton. Now with no excuse to pop in for some tea, I’ll be at the T By Daniel shop every time I’m in the area!

T By Daniel is located on the second floor in the mall, near The Bay. It is actually the old Teavana location, but a lot of beautiful work has been done to the space to make it their own! When you reach the storefront one of the first things you’ll see to the right are the graphics that celebrate the time the founders, Renata and Daniel Lewis, served tea to HRH Prince Charles back in 2017. Their teas are royally approved, and that is certainly something to celebrate! To the left of the entrance is a spot that is reserved for small cups filled with tea for mall visitors to sample.

As you enter the tea shop, you’re given one of the best greetings you can ever receive! The employees are full of energy and eager to meet new and regular tea lovers. “Believe to see it” covers the back wall, creating a positive space for customers. White tables and chairs create a small seating area in T By Daniel. This allows you to rest while waiting for your tea, or even just sit and enjoy the cuppa with some friends. I appreciate that T By Daniel made sure to include this space, encouraging customers to slow down.

All of the teas available at T By Daniel can be found to your left. They are primarily blends that were created to make tea fun. For example, Jamaican Me Crazy is a coconut green tea. Flu Who is a blend of herbs and spices for those days you feel under the weather. The Flavour Station is where you’ll find the loose leaf teas in cylindrical dispensers. The idea is to choose your flavour — nutty, citrus, fruity, floral, chocolate or traditional — and that will help narrow down a T By Daniel blend that may excite your taste buds the most.

You can select any tea and an employee will weigh and bag it for you take it home. If you rather, they can steep you a cup to drink it on the go. Along the counter you can also find a row of each tea in small glass bottles. They are labelled and ready for customers to check out the appearance and aroma of the leaves. All of their tea blends can be made hot ($3.75), iced ($4.75) or as a tea latte ($4.75).

When you take a tea to go you get it in their pastel branded cups. These cups include a spot to write the order and who it is for. As you can see from the image above, they take it up a notch by giving customers a nickname. A small but mighty gesture. My go-to tea from T By Daniel is their Usain Jolt. It’s a black tea and roasted yerba mate blend with chocolate and vanilla flavours. I grabbed a tea to drink, and decided to try something new. Somehow I ended up ordering my other favourite tea from them though, their Chai Noir. My boyfriend was with me though and he enjoyed a Usain Jolt tea latte.

On the wall across from The Flavour Station, there are some products for sale including a book written by one of the owners, and the face of the brand, Daniel Lewis. They also have some fancy teapots, teacups and plates, but one of the more popular items is their Lion Chai in bulk. Lion Chai was one of T By Daniel’s exclusive teas that was served and enjoyed by HRH Prince Charles, making it quite famous. Just recently it became available to the public as before it was a drink you could only buy in-store by the cup.

T By Daniel has a sweet treats section with chocolate bars infused with their teas, biscotti, macarons and chocolate covered strawberries. These treats are perfect to grab and snack on with a delicious cup of tea in hand. I took home their matcha chocolate bar and two lion chai chocolate bars.

Next time you’re shopping in Brampton make it the Bramalea City Centre and stop by T By Daniel. Grabbing a cuppa from their fabulous employees will make your shopping adventures even better!

  1. I love their decor and ‘The Flavour Station’. Super cool that they personalize your order. The next time I am in Brampton visiting family as well, I need to visit!
