This Month in Tea // March 2018 Blog Round Up

Happy Easter and April Fools’ Day! It’s the one day of the year where it is perfectly acceptable to eat a bunch of mini eggs for breakfast. Right?! I’ve been pairing my milk chocolate Easter treats with my typical morning cups of Assam and I’m saving some dark chocolates for Bai Hao oolong steeps later today. Try pairing your Easter chocolates with tea (find tips here) while you catch up on some tea reads from last month. In this month’s blog round up, you’ll be inspired to share tea with others, learn more about American iced tea history, make an Italian dessert with a tea twist and much more. Enjoy!

Tea

Tea Cachai | Green Tea Tasting: Comparing Teabags from Mass Market Brands – This is probably my new favourite post from Daniela’s blog! To show that there is no such thing as “just green tea”, she does a taste test with green teabags from Twinings, Bigelow, Traders Joe and then a loose leaf green tea from Adagio. Check out her evaluation!

The Tea Letter | 7 Reasons to Make Loose Leaf Tea for Others – If you needed a reason to get out there and make tea (specifically loose leaf) for others, well, Mike is giving you 7! Tea is meant to be shared. Number 4 is my favourite reason.

Tea Happiness | American Tea History: Who Sipped Iced Tea First? – Inspired by her upcoming Charleston trip, Sara did some research on the history of iced tea in the US and shared some fascinating information! Despite “sweet tea” popularity, did you know iced tea most likely originated in the North, not South?

Food

Flour Covered Apron | Puerh Tea Tiramisu – I love tiramisu which is traditionally made with coffee/espresso. However, there are a lot of recipes today that will replace that main ingredient with matcha, the espresso of tea. I love the idea of using a strong cup of pu-erh instead, though!

DIY

BerinMade | DIY Carnation-tied Tea Bags – This is a cute, and inexpensive DIY for gift giving. As this blog states, it would be nice for Mother’s Day. Something different than the usual tea tags for those that are enjoy teabags!

ctrl + curate | DIY Rattan Tea Box – If you have quite a few teabags in your collection, a box like the one made with this DIY is a popular storing option. Tea bags come in all shapes and sizes today, so sometimes there is an issue of finding a tea box that actually fits your tea bags. Making one yourself can solve that problem!

Misc.

To Universe, With Love | A Tea Story“Once upon a time, I wanted to be a tea scientist.” The first line of this tea inspired essay from Archana reeled me in. Throughout it, she shares her current tea collection, her tea wish list and tea routine.

Hamilton Small Fries | Dining with Mom Vlog: Taylor’s Tea RoomI love this new series Heather has started on her blog with her mom! Her mom does an excellent job at describing her experiences at Taylor’s Tea Room. Who wouldn’t want to check out a tea room that Robin Williams has visited?!

I hope you enjoy this month in tea blog round up! Do you have a blog you think I should check out? As always, let me know in the comments below!
