This Month in Tea // February Blog Round Up

Raise your teacup if you forgot March started today! It doesn’t fail, every year February seems to throw me off course. I started this new month with a dian hong because even though it’s been spring like temperatures lately, winter is creeping back and I crave a great black tea. I ended today’s tea sips with Bombay Chai from Tea People and a few pages from The Book of Hygge. Aside from reading a bunch of books last month, some posts from fellow bloggers caught my attention. This February blog round up features a new tea place in Ontario, Canada, information on yellow tea, tea related crafts and much more. Happy reading!

Tea

Books and Tea | A Trip to the 2017 Toronto Tea Festival – Christina also attended the Toronto Tea Festival end of January and reported about her Sunday visit on her blog. We share the same thoughts on chaga mushroom tea (are you a fan of it?!) and she snagged some great teas for a great deal at T by Daniel’s booth!

Tea for Me Please | What is Yellow Tea?There are six types of tea and this month Nicole wrote about the lesser-known yellow tea. If you’re surprised by this type of tea or knew about its existence but need to learn more, this blog post covers everything from yellow tea origins to brewing guidelines.

Notes on Tea | Blind Taste Test – Three Flat Bags of Green Tea – Some of my favourite posts from Georgia are when she shares her assignments from her tea program. I love following that part of her tea journey! This blind tasting where she compares three green teas has me wanting to experiment the same.

Food

Salt & Fork | In the Land of Tea: Richmond Row’s Official Tea Lounge – The Tea Lounge in London has been on my radar since its arrival was first announced. Luckily, London isn’t too far from me and this great review on the new place makes me want to plan my trip there sooner rather than later! I love how Aria sets the scene in her review.

Hey, K. Cho! | Oolong Tea Sugar Cookies –  Kristina adapted a sugar cookie recipe with an oolong tea twist. One of my favourite parts about baking with tea is that it makes the kitchen smells so heavenly. I’m so looking forward to her possible Jasmine Tea Brownies creation next!

DIY

Club Crafted | DIY Coffee Filter Tea Bags + Free Printable Labels – I don’t drink tea bags too often but I think this DIY would come in handy for when I want to bring loose tea on the go with limited items. My mother and sister often prefer tea bags so this would be a nice gift idea to share higher quality teas with it. They also look quite fun to make!

Tea & Nail Polish | DIY Candy Cane Crush or White Chocolate Peppermint Tea – I haven’t tried the Candy Cane Crush tea from David’s Tea but the White Chocolate Peppermint tea from Teavana is actually addicting and I wish it was around all year. But, this quick DIY to make something similar at home any time is perfect! So if you’re feeling the same, check this how-to out.

Health

Abbey’s Kitchen | Isagenix, Skinny Tea, and Weight Loss Supplements – Do They Work? – I have shared information on detox teas (or “teatox”) before and I’ll continue to when I find other well written posts like this from Abbey’s Kitchen. She breaks down three major teatox brands (along with a couple other dietary supplements) to show how they can be unsafe and essentially just expensive laxatives.

Enjoy this February blog round up! Do you have a blog you think I should check out? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. It’s so great that you write a regular round up post. I really need to start writing round-ups to give more credit to my incredibly talented blogging friends. Thanks for the inspiration and a list of new sites to check out!
