I've just read that phyllodulcin has a variety of health benefits, and has recently been found to combat amyloid beta in the brain (https://neurosciencenews.com/phyllodulcin-alzheimers-23712/). Having parents who developed Alzheimer's I am always on the lookout for things that could help me stave it off.

I also love tea! I can't say I am in any way a connoisseur, because once I find (or mix) teas that I really enjoy, my motivation to explore drops off. That said, teas make up my preferred beverages from morning to night. I'm happy that my journey looking for a source of phyllodulcin led me to your blog!

I followed the link you provided to order some Amacha tea, but that website no longer lists it as a product. I've tried searching for Hydrangea tea, but all I can find is tea made from the root of a hydrangea plant. Are you aware of any other source for this tea?

Thanks!

I wish I had read this article before steeping my Amacha!! I thought there was something wrong with my tongue. I like buying teas that I've never tried before just to taste them but I guess from now on I should check online to see optimal steeping methods beforehand.

Thank you for the info on this. Gonna try out your steeping suggestions in the future.

[…] While on a trip to Amsterdam the same year, I started my custom of searching for the best teashop of my destination (lets just say that my travel companions have not always been all that pleased to spend hours tracking down not the sightseeing highlights in town but the best brewed cup). While in Amsterdam, I discovered the beautiful old shopfront of Simon Lévelt, where I spent a large chunk of my holiday funds on three bags of their tea, including a rare Japanese herbal amacha.
