Currently Loving: Fall 2016 Edition

1. Presley Teapot and Round Mug from Terra Klay – When I think of fall weather, I think of masala chai instead of pumpkin spice. A couple weeks ago I shared my recipe for masala chai from scratch and you may have seen this teapot and mug set featured in the post. They are my absolute favourite and I love that there is a lovely story behind each piece of tea ware from Terra Klay. Each tea pot has a name from the female artisans in India who handcraft these beauties. Purchasing any of the tea ware on their site help to support the women that make them. The material used is serpentine rock and other locally sourced natural materials and the tea ware will also absorb the tea over time.

2. Meditating Buddha Tea Pet from Zhen Tea – I’ve had this little one for a couple years now but I’ve been appreciating it a lot more the last few months with all my personal tea sessions. Solo tea sessions are always better with my buddha tea pet. It’s my first and only (for the time being…) tea pet. I enjoy sharing my tea with it, but also appreciating the many beautiful details in this handcrafted piece. As the picture shows, mine is wearing a green robe, but I’ve seen many similar tea pets online that have other colour robes available.

3. Sea Salt Caramels from Liddabit Sweets – So these don’t actually have any tea in them, but I recently got them as they were included in Tea Box Express’ October box. I’m not usually a caramel fan, however these were a huge hit, especially when savouring some sips of the Kenya black tea that came in the box as well. There’s no doubt these will be done tonight (Halloween!!) and I’m going to have to order more!

4. Kaori Face Pack from Grace & Green – I believe Grace & Green used to sell this, but do not anymore. It’s actually made by another brand in Japan. Just a few weeks ago I was gifted this green tea face mask, which I was excited about because I’ve been considering making my own soon (which I will share on the blog when I do!). It’s just a powder that contains green tea, cornstarch, honey, dextrin and sodium hyaluronate. It came with a little container and spoon to mix the powder with water to form a paste to spread on your face for 2-3 minutes. I like that it’s not a strong smell, doesn’t irritate my skin as it’s free from a lot of junk ingredients, and is actually quiet refreshing. I’ll be sad when I’m out of this stuff, but then I will use that as motivation to make my own and share with you all!

5. Earl Grey Soap Bar from Pep Soap – I connected with the owner of Pep Soap, Natalie Wong, when I was working on my piece about Westholme Tea Farm’s Canadian tea release. I was thrilled when she informed me she was working on adding tea infused soap bars to her line. When I got my bar in the mail I forgot I was expecting it and was wondering what on earth was smelling so darn good in the package! Using the earl grey tea from JusTea, Natalie infused the loose leaves into unrefined shea butter and other great oils for the skin. If you want your bathroom to smell like heaven and leave your skin feeling amazing, I highly recommend this earl grey soap bar.
