“T By Daniel was born in 2011 into the loving arms of husband and wife team Daniel and Renata Lewis. Lovers of tea, fashion and especially people, Daniel and Renata had a vision to start something that could speak to all generations and could bring people together… Tea just happens to be one of those things in life that does just that. T By Daniel is the funky, modern tea company, that focuses on selling tea in a very fun, interactive and stylish way.” Here are my thoughts on one of those exciting tea blends.

Tasting Notes: During the Olympics this summer, I thought it was appropriate to drink this tea blend often (even though I was definitely on Team Canada!). Maybe it’s the sweet tooth I have but I think I would consider this tea to be my favourite from all the others I have tried from T By Daniel’s line. Even though it is categorized as an herbal tea, the roasted yerba mate that offers a nutty flavour is paired with black tea that enhances the smooth caramel notes. I was never too crazy for yerba mate before but this tea blend made me see it differently, especially since this one was roasted which offered a rich and robust cup. The chocolate addition was pleasant and not overpowering. It was a dark, bitter chocolate flavour but the vanilla added a touch of sweetness that was nice for a bold cup. I usually hear about yerba mate, roasted especially, being compared to coffee. While I do not drink or like coffee, I am actually a fan of coffee flavoured treats. This tea blend from T by Daniel reminded me of a coffee flavoured chocolate bar with light vanilla bites. And guess what? I’m a huge, huge fan of Coffee Crisp (Canadians you know what I’m talking about!) so I was delighted to be reminded of that within the first few sips.
Verdict:
*This tea just came back in stock at T By Daniel so it’s not online just yet. You can check out their site for more tea choices or visit them in Downtown Brampton, Ontario for a cuppa! T By Daniel offers their online customers the full in-store experience. So, when you order online from them, you can also expect one of their nifty to-go cups with a nickname already on it. Mine was “Lucky Charm Lu Ann” 😉
