I probably enjoyed double the amount of tea the last month than I usually do because I was unfortunately sick for most of it. My absolute favourite from February’s tea journey? The one I won from the Toronto Tea Festival this past January – Seven Cups’ Qi Dan (Original Da Hang Pao Bush) 2015 Rock Wulong Tea. I actually may need to restock soon. Anyways, I hope you all had a healthier month than myself and are ready for the tea adventures to come this month. Let’s start by taking a look at a February round up of some of my favourite tea reads online.
Tea
Cha Tea Room | 10 Ways to Have a Tea Wedding – If you’ve ever considered adding your love of tea to one of the biggest days of your life, here is an excellent list of various ways you can do so. It’s so much more than just serving it!
Tea Happiness | The Art of the Korean Tea Ceremony – I was thrilled to live through Sara’s blog post on her experiences with the Korean tea ceremony especially since it was the one I always had to miss at the Toronto Tea Festival the other month.
Black Dragon Tea Bar | A Treasure Trove of Japanese Teas – After attending a tea event, Brett shared his awesome experiences. Of course, tea was shared and great photos and tasting notes of the various teas presented were documented.
The Queen of Chai | My Chai Story – Reema, owner of The Chai Palace, also has a blog and she shared her own story with the beverage that explains perfectly why she started her chai business. Growing up in Karachi, Reema has many memories of that involves her mother and the appreciate for tea.
Lord Devotea’s Tea Spouts | Think Fast: Your Cuppa Needs You – Mistakes may happen sometimes when making tea for yourself or others. Robert shares some scenarios and really great tips to quickly save your cup of tea instead of just tossing it. I especially like that he suggests using the “wrong” tea for cooking if it’s still not up to your drinking standards.
Food
Melissa Hartfiel | Friday Tea & Chocolate: TeaLC’s Sweet Nothings Tea – The first part of this blog post is something I can definitely relate to – a dislike for coffee, but not coffee flavoured treats. Melissa reviews a tea that is blended with coffee beans (which, I have yet to find one that I actually can stand) from a Canadian company that I need to check out.
Petite Tea Lover | Szechuan Prawns with Jasmine Tea Rice – Michelle takes one of her favourite Jamie Oliver recipes and recreates it with rice cooked in jasmine tea to celebrate Chinese New Year last month. I’ve made jasmine tea rice before for other dishes. Looks like I’ll have to give this one a go now.
Lifestyle
Oh So Beautiful Paper | Friday Happy Hour: Green Tea-Infused Gin Sour – I actually don’t enjoy alcohol but if it’s infused with tea somehow, I’m all for trying it. It’s probably the only way to get me to drink it these days. This drink looks amazing, and with just a few ingredients it can easily be made (any day of the week, too).
The Vault Files | Food File: How to make Valentine’s Day Tea Bag Cookies – This has long been something I’ve always seen photos of everywhere online and thought were neat. I never did think about making cookies that resemble tea bags before until I came across this how-to and realized it isn’t that difficult.
Enjoy the posts from this February round up! Do you have a blog you think I should check out? Let me know in the comments below!
