Tea Highlights in 2015 + Free 2016 Year Calendar Printable

With this year ending in just a few days, it’s the perfect time to reminisce on a few things that happened in the world of tea for 2015 and get ready for what will be coming in the next year. I think one of the most obvious news from this past year was it certainly being the year for matcha. It was around this time last year where I was told to watch out as this green tea powder would be the next “superfood” item for the year. While that news did bring some positive attention towards the tea world, my tea highlights are a bit more personal. Here are a few of my favourites from this past year.

Favourite Event

Toronto Tea Festival – This year was the first time I was able to attend the tea festival held in Toronto and I enjoyed it so much, I am already planning my trip for next year’s.

Favourite News

Teafarm’s First Official Harvest – Easily one of my favourite moments was not only being able to get to learn more about Teafarm’s initiative to become the home of tea culture in Canada, but also getting to write about them for Fresh Cup’s cover story.

Favourite “YAY!” Moment

World Tea Awards – While I was not in attendance, it was still very cool to have my blog recognized once again at the World Tea Expo for Best Tea Blog and Best Social Media Reach.

Favourite Tea

Roasted Oolongs – I’m usually one to have a hard time answering the question “what’s your favourite tea?” I still can’t narrow it down to just one tea, but this year’s tea consumption helped me realize that roasted oolongs just might be the best response.

Favourite Job Well Done

New Blog Design – I’m so happy this was completed this year because I can not wait to begin utilizing the blog in many ways in 2016. If you’re ever in a major writing block, I suggest reworking your blog design in some way. It has been a great motivator to get posts up and of course, a good excuse to drink more tea for fuel.

What were some of your favourite moments in 2015 (tea related, or not!)?

Gift for You

I hope you all have a safe and happy holidays. Thanks for reading my blog this past year and connecting with me through various mediums. I can’t wait to see what 2016 has in store for The Cup of Life and the tea industry. I wish I could let you in on a special tea project I will be devoting much time to this coming year, but that shall remain a surprise for now. As a small token of my appreciation, I have created a tea themed 2016 year calendar for you. I made sure to highlight Hot Tea Month, Iced Tea Month and International Tea Day on it, too. You can download the calendar for free below by subscribing to our email newsletter. After subscribing, you’ll be sent a confirmation list and then a link to your email to download the 2016 year calendar printable. If you are already a subscriber, you should be receiving an email with a download link. The newsletter will keep you in the loop of everything that goes on with The Cup of Life and some extra fun tea stuff like more freebies and of course, revealing the surprise project eventually.

Let’s go into the new year together! Feel free to snap a photo afterwards of where you displayed your calendar and send it to me on my Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #theteacupoflife. I look forward to seeing how you display The Cup of Life 2016 Year Calendar printable 🙂

happy steeping & sipping,

    • Hi Kim, there are so many great tea retailers you can purchase from online! If you check out my list of tea reviews, you will find plenty. Alternatively, if you send me an email I can provide you with more specific options so we can get you drinking amazing loose leaf tea again soon!
