Ah! After months and months it feels so good to finally welcome you all to the new blog design for The Cup of Life. Can you believe that up until now I had the same design since I first started the blog back in 2011? I always knew it was time for an upgrade but was scared to actually make a change because of all the work involved. During the summer I have been going over some ideas of what I wanted to do with my blog in the future and that’s when I realized that I had to stop dreaming and start doing.
While it may look like a lot has changed around here, it’s only for the better. I will still be sharing similar content (tea reviews, cooking with tea recipes, etc.) just much more, too. There are so many ideas I have steeping for the tea world that I want The Cup of Life to be the home of and I’m thrilled to finally have a platform that is more flexible to do wonderful things.
I couldn’t wait any longer to make the new design live. Over the next few weeks you may see a few small tweaks as I still have some reformatting to do. If you happen to receive any errors on certain pages or posts, please let me know in the comments or by email so I can fix that as soon as possible. Thank you to everyone who was super patient. Regular post scheduling will commence next week. Don’t forget to follow The Cup of Life on social media and subscribe to the newsletter to stay up to date on the many great things to come.
Since it is Friday, I wanted to do something a bit different today and share a few of my favourite teas this week that I indulge in quite often thanks to the relaunch date I pushed on myself. I announced earlier that I was redesigning the blog on my Facebook page and wanted suggestions on teas that you lean towards to stay up late working on projects. Even if it’s cliche, many teas are what got me through this long process of redesigning my tea blog. I needed a ton of encouragement and energy and the following three teas did just the trick.
Favourite Black Tea: Beginner’s Luck Masala Chai from The Chai Palace
Favourite Oolong Tea: Cape Jasmine Oolong from Tea Ave
Favourite Puerh Tea: Golden Puerh from The Tea Emporium
What were some of your favourite teas this week? Let me know in the comments below along with your thoughts on the new blog design! 🙂
Your new website looks absolutely gorgeous. I love how bright, clean, and aesthetically pleasing the entire look of the site is. I also love the new logo. Well done, this is a great and natural evolution.
Thank you so much for your feedback Rachel. That is exactly what I was going for. 🙂
Love the changes, congrats! As for me my favorite teas of the week are Hui Run ripe Puerh from Yunnan Sourcing, Yunnan Gongfu Fragrant black from Teavivre and just like you I loved the Cape Jasmine Oolong from Tea Ave!
I’m loving your favourite teas list. I think I need to invest in some from Yunnan Sourcing soon! And thank you for the congrats. I am so excited about the changes.
I love your new blog design! I have such weakness for minimalism.

Same here! I really wanted something to draw people in for the header but keep the rest more simple. I’m so glad you love it, Cara. Love yours as well.
Congrats on the new look! So wonderful to see a blog dedicated to the art of tea drinking. 🙂
Thanks so much Christine! Are you a tea drinker as well? Please feel free to let me know if you ever have any tea related questions 🙂
These are all my favourite teas! I always start the day off with some hot tea – very relaxing.
Nice! Do you have a favourite tea in particular?
Lu Ann, this is my first time on your blog and I just want to say that I absolutely LOVE your website design. I’ve never really explored the world of teas so I’m super excited I stumbled upon your site!
Hi Isabel,
Thank you so much for the kind words. That seriously made my day! I’m heading off to check out your blog now because, well, cats had me intrigued haha. Let me know if you ever have any tea related questions.
Your blog is beautiful! I absolutely love your header! Congrats on the redesign…it was well worth the wait!
Thanks so much for your kind words, Lizze. You’re so right – all the hard work was worth it. Happy writing 🙂
I LOVE your new design. 🙂 Congrats you have done a wonderful job. 😀 You should have put a “before” picture though so I could see what it used to look like hehe.
I’m afraid there’s not much tea in my life apart from pure ole builders tea. Your blog I think will help me though! We love tea in this house, so this could be fun! 😀
It was my intention to put a before photo, but I guess I was too excited and rid my old design before I could take a screenshot haha. However, I did just add a small photo I was able to find in a search. Thank you for joining me on my tea journey. Happy to help you with anything and everything tea!
I love your redesign! Your logo is so unique and perfect!!!
It took quite some time to finally settle on a design, so it’s so great to hear you love it. Thank you so much!
It’s so FUZZY!
Er, I mean SHINY!
Maybe both?
Oh, heck, you know what I mean.
Finally, someone noticed it was fuzzy! Thanks Geoff.
Beautiful update!!! Love the header photo, nice job!
Beautiful site and I like how natural it feels – congratulations on all your hard work! It’s not easy updating a website yourself 🙂
You’re right, it’s not haha. But I’m happy with the results so I think all the hard work was worth it. It means a lot that you enjoy it too. Thank you 🙂
