While I did enjoy everything November had to offer, I am way too excited for tomorrow to get here and December to finally begin. I may be biased but it is most definitely my favourite month. Ever. I love that it can pretty much be a write off for most people. With the last two weeks being all about the holidays, December gives us plenty of time to focus on what is more important – family and friends. It probably also helps that December is also my birthday month and I’m one of those people who like to celebrate all month long.
Slowing things down a little, we can’t forget about what November brought us. Like every month, many incredible blog posts were published incorporating tea in some way. Check them out in the round up below now or save this page to catch up later.
Tea
Steeped in Tea | The Wonders of Kombucha – While matcha has been a big trend this year for many, I was busy jumping on the Kombucha bandwagon myself. Lauren discusses a bit about the fermented tea beverage and even shares her experiences with making her own batch. I need to start making my own, too.
Mel Had Tea | Pure Green Tea with Four Seasons Tea Co. – I love “meeting” fellow Canadian tea lovers and bloggers and I couldn’t wait to connect with Mel for my palate cleansing post after I came across her blog. This post is just one of many where she shares beautiful photos and lovely words of her steeps. This post is also on a new Canadian tea company that I was happy to learn about from her.
Steeped Stories | Defining a Doke Tea State of Mind – Geoff created “NaNoTeaMo” instead of NaNowritMo to participate in this month. Every day in November he wrote about tea and of course, this left me in a difficult spot to select just one of the 30 awesome posts he wrote. I decided on this particular one because of my full support of making “doking” a thing. His comparison of a 2015 June and July Black Fusion may have had something to do with it too. I highly encourage you to check out all his posts from the series.
World of Tea | 2015 Tea Book Roundup – This year was certainly the year for many well written tea related books. If you’re looking for a new tea book to add to your bookshelf, Tony did a great job at sharing a list of nine reads and a bit about each. I can’t wait to hopefully read his own book next year.
Food
The Crafty Larder | Super Simple Tea Loaf – The colder seasons in Canada encourage me to bake more often for the comfort treat but also to heat up the house faster. When I was looking for new recipes to try I was excited to stumble upon this particular one. This loaf is delicious to have with a cup a tea, and it also incorporates black tea into the actual recipe.
Lime and Cilantro | My Kind of Tea Time: Fermented Tea Leaf Salad – While this recipe looks absolutely divine, it was Soe sharing a bit about his history with tea and a dish like this that caught my attention the most. It makes me want to try making my own fermented tea leaf salad much more. It seems fairly simple, just need patience for the fermentation process.
DIY
Living La Vida Holoka | DIY Christmas Tea Tree – It’s officially Christmas season and that means time to get out the decorations. While this lovely craft could be used to give as a gift, I think it would be perfect as a fun, handmade decor to place on the table and have everyone enjoy a cup of tea together on Christmas day.
Craftaholics Anonymous | Minature Teacup and Teapot Jewelry – You will always find me at craft fairs searching for tea themed jewelry. In fact, up until this summer, I have been searching non stop but could never find what I was looking for exactly so I decided to go to a craft store, pick up a teapot charm and make my own necklace. This wonderful DIY shows us how to make that, and also a super cute teacup ring to go with it!
