Did you hear that noise? If you listen closely, you can probably hear Christmas bells! It’s time to decorate 🙂 Earlier this week I shared some tea advent calendars that are available online from various tea businesses and as promised, today I’m sharing some of my favourite DIY tea advent calendars I found online. If you’re like me and you’re up to your neck in tea, making your own calendar to countdown with may be a great idea and there are a lot of options out there. The tutorials I have found include creating a typical calendar garland, magnetic tins, clothespin Christmas tree, cork board, and treat bags.
Tea Calendar Garland
Do you have some lovely Christmas themed napkins lying around? This is a great way to use them. A lot of little details go into this beautiful tea advent calendar tutorial but it definitely appears to be worth it.
I also enjoy that at the end they have included a price breakdown of all the materials used so you can get an idea of how much your own tea advent calendar would cost. Check out Sly and Sam for more details on this DIY.
Cork Board Style
Usually when I think of making a tea advent calendar the idea of hanging it up like garland (similar to the one above) is what comes to mind. I really enjoy this tutorial where a cork board is decorated and used to pin each pack of tea up. Real life Pinterest board anyone?
You’ll also notice that creating tea tags is an important step in this tutorial as they are what are used to number each day. Find the full DIY for this tea advent calendar on Alicier.
Magnetic Advent Calendar
If you have had DAVIDsTea’s 24 Days of Tea before, chances are you have all those little tins leftover that could definitely be used for this tutorial. While this one is not specifically geared towards tea, you can fill it with practically anything that can fit, and I just think tea is the perfect item.
Don’t forget to add a magnet to the back and display each on a metal sheet. Make this DIY with the tutorial and printables on Makoodle.
Clothespin Christmas Tree
How could you not love this advent calendar display idea? Don’t let the woodworking intimidate you because once you get the desired length for each piece of the tree, you are basically just left with using a few nails and wood glue.
Of course, fill those bags with your favourite teas and mix them up so you don’t know which one is which before you label them with the free printables found at Shanty 2 Chic.
Christmas Treat Bags
Another simple and fabulous tea advent calendar idea is to create little treat bags and store them in a cute basket. Using origami or plain paper, this tutorial shows you a super easy way to make your own baggies to hold your teas.
Seriously, making these bags are so fun, I couldn’t stop myself after just 24. See the step by step on Fox and Star.
