A Cup of Zen is a new series I have begun on my blog. The following is The Cup of Life’s first post for the series featuring myself, the writer. For more information and to be featured, please visit its page.
I’m a tea blogger, as most of you are aware by now, and a marketing consultant. I got into this field because of my love for design and creative writing and of course, tea. When you’re not finding me drinking tea or blogging, I’m usually in awe as I stroll through crystal shops, spending time with my family, and trying to think of more ways to infuse tea into my recipes and every day life.
Tea joins me in all my zen moments because I find tea to be zen itself. However, one moment that I remember fondly is the one pictured above and is used for this series. About a month after my boyfriend moved into his first house we started to think of a good area in his yard for a zen spot/garden. I rolled out his yoga mat in a paved spot under trees with a cup of white tea and my new book Tea Wisdom. I read a few random tea quotes and quips from the book and we began to do some yoga sequences together breaking every now and then for sips of teas and another quote. I felt at peace and rejuvenated for the rest of the day all while creating a deeper connection with my boyfriend. I was really grateful for the gorgeous weather and the area we agreed on as our own special spot for more zen moments like this one.
