I was contacted by Traditional Medicinals to give a few of their herbal teas a try. When I agreed, the package above showed up at my doors a few days later. It was advertised as a “medicine cabinet” with a prescription from a doctor recommending you “drink your plants!” I could not get enough of it. Inside my TM “medicine cabinet” were 4 different wellness teas – all of which are “natural medicines you can trust.” I am into holistic health myself so you can imagine how excited I was to receive teas created by herbalists! Another plus: TM is pesticide, GMO, artifical flavouring FREE! Woooaah!
Organic Throat Coat
Ingredients: organic licorice root, organic wild cherry bark, organic bitter fennel fruit, organic marshmallow root, organic slippery elm bark, organic cinnamon bark, organic sweet orange peel.
Thoughts: I woke up one morning with a scratchy throat. It was inconvenient since I had an important phone call in a few hours. My first thought was I need tea. I went to my collection and started to make some green tea with honey but it didn’t do the trick (or at least not as quick as I wanted). I completely forgot about my “medicine cabinet” until I saw tweets from TM that morning. I went to steep this one for 10 minutes and sipped away. While I wasn’t 100% better, I noticed a difference. I could swallow without pain and I felt a burst of energy for my morning. Learn more here.
Organic Ginger Aid
Ingredients: Organic ginger rhizome, Organic blackberry leaf, organic stevia leaf, organic
lemon myrtle leaf.
Thoughts: TM suggests that this tea is great for relieving digestive upsets but I found it to be especially helpful for those dreadful time of the month cramps. Before TM, I always relied on ginger of some sort (whether it was tea, or fresh in smoothies) for the pain. I decided that their Ginger Aid was the next best thing for it and it was. Learn more here.

Organic Roasted Dandelion Root
Ingredients: Organic roasted dandelion root
Thoughts: I won’t lie, I was skeptical to try this tea. I’ve never had dandelion of any sort before and only ever thought of them as unwanted weeds on my lawn. I started to research it a bit more though and realized it’s used to help treat digestive disturbances and increase bile flow. When I took my first sip, I felt silly for fussing about it at first. It wasn’t horrible at all, in fact it didn’t really taste like much. Learn more here.

Organic Nighty Night
Ingredients: Organic passionflower herb, organic chamomile flower, organic catnip herb, organic hop strobile, organic spearmint leaf, organic sweet orange peel.
Thoughts: Restless sleeper? Thoughts racing in your mind at night? Before you reach for sleep meds, or other types of sleep aid drugs consider trying out this herbal tea. It has a soothing taste that easily relaxes me. I enjoyed the fact that I did not wake up feeling droggy. I woke up just like a normal sleep except a lot more rested. Learn more here.
