Happy (belated) 2nd Birthday, The Cup of Life!

The main reason I started this tea blog on June 3, 2011 was because I wanted a blog with a topic I felt strongly about as I would be more inclined to keep it up to date and use it often. I may not the best blogger, and certainly do not have the best tea blog out there but I initially started this blog just for myself, a way of documenting my journey into the land of tea. At the time, I had no idea of how strong of a tea blogging community there was. When I first started my blog I had only known of Teaspoons and Petals, and that was enough inspiration to make me create my own.

I had originally created this blog to write about any thoughts I get during each sip of any blend I take. I started by describing some teas I would usually drink in “today’s steep” and so on. Then I opened a Twitter account that was just for my blog (my personal twitter account is @teaaholic – follow me if you’d like!). From my twitter account I began to notice a wide range of tea bloggers and that’s when I began wanting to interview many for my blog as a way to grow and learn from their experiences as well. This blog has taken me to so many places (virtually) and back, and I’m so incredibly thankful for that. I feel as if each day I have a different dream for my blog than before, however, I will always continue to work through my initial dream which is to eventually make The Cup of Life an actual tea cafe/shop one day. I’m slowly learn about the tea business however and would love to learn more from other successful companies so if you own a tea shop (online or an actual store) please contact me so we can chat more because I really need to learn the basics!

As I wrap up this post, I want to thank/highlight some blogs and individuals (in no particular order) I have kept it touch with over the past 2 years and who I find to be inspirational for each post I create. There are a lot of people to thank and I won’t be able to thank all of you in one post so please don’t be offended because somewhere in the back of my mind I’m sending you so many virtual hugs of appreciation.

Jen of No Time Like Tea Time
Jen of An International Tea Moment
Sara of Tea Happiness

And of course, thank you to all the Tea companies who have sent me teas to review, sponsored any contests that ran on my blog, and every one of you who create the remarkable blends that make my blogging experiences more fun!

Cheers,

 Lu Ann
