What Blogs to Read this Month in Tea // August Round Up

I’m still wrapping my head around the idea that it’s already September! Where has this year gone? It’s hard to believe that we’re entering the pumpkin spice everything part of the year, but here I am writing out my August round up of great blog reads. I made sure it would consist of one recipe to hold onto summer a bit longer but I would be lying if I say I am not excited for Fall (favourite season!) In addition to that summer recipe, in this round up you will also find posts with some wonderful tea tasting notes, organic matcha brands comparison, cute tea pets and more.

Tea

Notes on Tea | Tasting Three Oriental Beauty Oolongs – Georgia writes some of my favourite tea reviews. Here she had Oriental Beauty oolongs from Te Company, Totem Tea and Smith Teamaker and she shared her notes from the aroma of the dry leaf and liquor and taste.

Tea For Me Please | Podcast Episode 22: What are Tea Pets? – I’m always amazed at Nicole’s tea pet collection. She shares them in her latest podcast along with demonstrating how they can be used during your tea session. Sadly, I only have one tea pet at the moment, but that will probably change soon because her podcast just made me want more 😛

Food

Let’s Nom Nom | Totem Tea, Portland – This has been one tea company that has been on my radar lately thanks to Instagram. I was delighted to see that this blogger shared her experiences after meeting up with Totem Tea’s owners for a tea tasting. I adore her photos and notes for their White Jade Phoenix Green Tea, Gui Fei Oolong and Snow Honey Chrysanthemum (must try!).

Confessions of a MotherRunner | Blueberry Iced Tea Spritzer – If you’re making one last pitcher of iced tea before the summer is over, this should be it! I didn’t have the exact tea that Deborah used here, but I did have a loose leaf blueberry black tea blend that was a delicious substitution.

Lifestyle

Persian Kitty Kat | Massive Organic Matcha Brands Review – If you were ever curious about an organic matcha comparison, here is a great place to look. All are sourced from Japan and available in USA. Kat gives her thoughts on the matcha’s appearance, aroma and taste. I’m happy to see one of my favourite matcha brands made her list!

Tea and Sage |  7 ways to mindfully improve your living space with minimal (or no) expense – I’m not sure how it happens, but I always seem to accumulate more things than I have room for, especially when it is tea related. Or, at least that is how it feels most of the time. Amy shares some excellent and simple tips on how you can easily clear and improve your space that I am definitely going to consider for a Fall cleaning day.

Misc.

The Arbor Teas Summer Reading Series | The Wintree Waltz by Lauren Doyle Owens – Over the summer Arbor Teas released one chapter per week of a fiction novel. Now that the summer is almost over, all chapters are made available online for anyone to read with a cup of tea by their side. I’m almost done reading it myself, one more chapter to go!

Tea-spiration Pre-Order Today

*Psst….. in case you missed it – I announced my first book last month. Maybe you’ll want to add Tea-spiration to your reading list soon? You can pre-order a copy now and win some neat tea prizes doing so. Tea-spiration will officially be out November 8. Learn more about the book and the idea behind it here.
