March Round Up: Recommended Blog Reads This Month in Tea

While the internet may not be everyone’s favourite place on April Fools day the best way to distract yourself from pranks galore is to catch up on some posts from last month. Right?! 🙂 You may find that this time around my monthly blog round up is featuring a lot more recipes than usual. Maybe it’s because I was hungry while compiling this list or because baking took over my March with Easter falling on a weekend then. Whatever the case may be, each of these tea infused reads and recipes are highly recommended and I hope you find a new blog to add to your subscription list from this March round up, too.

Tea

World Tea Podcast | A Divination of that Tea Sensation – I was super excited to see that Amy, a tea leaf reader in Hamilton, Ontario, was interviewed by TJ for his podcast to chat about her tea leaf reading journey. My fascination with tea has always been more than just the drink itself and I love to see others exploring the various uses.

The Tea Stylist | The Gaiwan: Tea Vessel with Soul – For quite some time now, the gaiwan has been my most favourite way to prepare and serve tea. Linda’s blog post on the vessel is so beautifully written. She captures most of the reasons why I love it as well and even shares a way to experience it yourself daily (as she recommends).

Tea-Journey | Spring Celebrations: Teas Being Made and Festivals Around the World – Katherine celebrates Spring harvest (one of the most wonderful times of the year!) by taking us on a mini getaway to four different tea growing areas and what is to be expected for their Spring tea season.

Food

My Kitchen Dirt | Rooibos Nut Granola – Granola is one of those things I actually really enjoy but don’t eat too often. Usually it’s because I prefer it homemade but never have any around when I’m actually craving it. When I do make it I definitely add tea to the mix (because why not?!) and my next batch is going to follow this recipe.

Angean | Fresh Raspberry & Lime Scones – I will forever associate scones with a fancy afternoon tea party. They are the most perfect and classic treat. Tess shares a recipe for super pretty and delicious scones that use fresh fruit which makes it even better.

In Search of Yummyness | Why are we so judgmental about what we eat? – This down to earth blog post should be read by everyone. It carries a very important message about food shaming and how we should be careful with our words. I especially appreciate that Shareba also discussed how being “healthy” and “skinny” are two entirely different things.

Sakura Junction | Melting Moments with Houjicha Cream – I still have a nice stash of houjicha powder that I’ve been wanting to use for various baked goods. If you have some houjicha powder (perhaps you were one of the winners of my giveaway this past month) at home too, here is a recipe you should try making.

Health

Joyous Health | Earl Grey Banana Bread – I always get excited when I see a recipe featuring earl grey because it makes my kitchen smell heavenly whenever something with it is baking. With no refined sugar this recipe is definitely one for the books. In addition to using earl grey concentrate I recommend adding some of the tea leaves (finely chopped) directly in to the mix as well.

Lifestyle

Canadian Blog House | Super Easy Canadian Maple Taffy – I’m kind of hoping for one last (gentle) snow fall so I can prepare some maple taffy following this recipe. Surprisingly, as a Canadian, I can’t remember the last time I’ve had one! It was probably back in elementary and I need to satisfy my cravings quick. Try it…I promise it won’t disappoint. Infuse some tea into the maple syrup if you must, too. 😉

Enjoy the posts from this March round up! Do you have a blog you think I should check out? Let me know in the comments below!
