Christmas Gift Guide

The Ultimate Holiday Gift Guide for Tea Lovers

December 9, 2015 in Tea Thoughts

Are you almost done your Christmas shopping but still need to get something for that tea lover on your list? You’ve come to the perfect place. Even if you’re like myself, and haven’t actually started shopping at all, I’ve compiled a list of some of my favourite tea related products that are a great start. I feel like getting a tea drinker, well, tea, is an obvious option. That’s why I’d love to help you see beyond the leaves and gather a few more possible ideas from this gift guide that would be best suited for your tea friends. Consisting of teawares, clothing, ornaments and much more, I tried to incorporate something for every tea lover.

*I did a holiday gift guide last year as well. If you’re interested in seeing more gift ideas after this, you can review 2014’s here.

The Cup of Life’s 2015 Holiday Gift Guide

Chawan (Tea Bowl) | Joseph Wesley

Joseph Wesley Tea Bowl
I’ve been noticing these 5 ounce tea bowls more and more lately. They’re absolutely stunning and actually made by an artist in a city right by me! They are available for a limited time, so be sure to pick one up online soon if interested.

Hand Blown Glass Teapot | Art of Tea

Handblown Glass Teapot
In case you weren’t aware, one can not have too many pieces of teaware. One that I believe is an important piece every tea lover should have is a glass teapot. They are the best for blooming teas, but also any other tea leaves that would be stunning to watch unfurl as they steep. I especially love that the infuser is built into the spout of this teapot so you are able to let tea leave steep loose in the vessel for maximum flavour.

Coffee Leaf Tea | Wize Monkey

Coffee Leaf Tea
Here’s something that might be a bit different for a tea drinker – Coffee Leaf Tea. This might even be an ideal gift for a coffee lover in your life as well. The leaves of a coffee plant are harvested to create “tea”. Not only does it make for a delicious, unique beverage, it helps create year-round jobs for coffee communities. Wize Monkey just perfected their Coffee Leaf Tea and even have Mint and Mango flavours now!

Artisan Sugars | Chambre De Sucre

Chambre De Sucre
While you typically just need water and tea leaves to create a perfect tea moment, sometimes it’s nice to dress things up a bit and create a fancier tea time. Chambre De Sucre provides an array of handcrafted sugars that will surely impress ones you gift them too. If you’d like a chance to win some in time for the holidays, be sure to check out my giveaway with them ending Monday!

Puerh Tea Christmas Ornament | Crimson Lotus Tea

Tea Christmas Ornament
I was just thinking this year as I was decorating my Christmas tree that I would love to find a bunch of teapot and tea cup ornaments for next year. When I came across this puerh tea ornament I just had to put this on my list as well. I think this is the perfect item for someone who has everything, but don’t know they need just this one more thing. Crimson Lotus Tea also recommends hanging it in your car, as it will release a subtle aroma when the sun comes out.

Harem Pants | Bohemian Island

Bohemian Island's Harem Pants
I swear these are the most comfortable pants, ever. They can be worn for yoga, the beach, or just lounging around. However, I have actually used them for a few tea ceremonies myself and that’s why they are on this list. Coming in various colours and designs, this is just another possible gift item a tea lover may not know they want. I also love that 10% of proceeds from each sale are donated to the Soi Dog Foundation in Phuket, Thailand to help care for the thousands of sick and stray dogs and cats on the island.

Tea Leaf Reading Gift Certificate | The Art of Tea and Tasseomancy

Tea Leaf Reading
While I have yet to get my tea leaves read by Amy, I’ve had the awesome experience before and would recommend it to anyone. If the tea lover in your life is located in the Hamilton, Ontario area, why not give the gift of messages in their cup this Christmas? She reads tea leaves in her home or does readings for private parties and events. Hopefully one day she’ll be able to accommodate Skype requests 🙂

Cowichan Gift Basket | Teafarm

Teafarm Cowichan Gift Basket
As you may, or may not already know, Teafarm is the home of tea culture in Canada. You can give the gift of a Canadian tea experience with this incredible gift basket they offer. Included is a Food Artisans of Vancouver Island book, jam made with Teafarm’s elderberries, Cowichan Caravan black tea and sweets made with their farm grown matcha (yum!).

Teapot Necklace | The Dorothy Days

Teapot Necklace
You can’t go wrong with some tea inspired jewelry like this teapot necklace. The Dorothy Days offers many different jewelry pieces from teapots to teacups and even has some gorgeous vintage teacups available for sale on her Etsy shop as well. Take a browse through all her tea related items and you will most likely find something perfect to wrap up.

In case this gift guide wasn’t enough, you can also go all out and dress up tea lovers’ gifts with this simple and fun DIY tea leaf printed wrapping paper.
