Tea Review: The Persimmon Tree’s Periwinkle

Periwinkle – The Persimmon Tree

Ingredients:
Organic Black Loose Leaf Tea, White Loose Leaf Tea, Natural Flavors

Steep Time: 5 minutes

First Sip Thought: “A pretty creation!”

Smell: Incredible! If it reminds me of anything specific, it would probably be some fresh vanilla baked goods. It steeped to a dark brown colour with a bold scent. The smell is just the beginning of the delicious-ness…

Taste: I’m usually always intrigued when I see a blend of black and white tea. Rich and floral essences are involved with each sip from this Assam tea. It ends with a slight earthy bit as well. There could be some bitterness to the tea, but that may be because the water temperature was too high. In my opinion, I’m obsessed with this tea when I sweeten it. It tastes like a heavenly, vanilla creamy dessert (and decreases the bitter taste). My only downside for this tea would be that I only found about one white tea leaf flower in the entire tin. I’m happy there is at least one for my to experience but I was expecting more. There is, however, broken bits of white tea leaves so I’m not completely left out of white tea flavours. I can see this being a great tea that coffee drinkers would also enjoy.

Verdict: 5 out of 5 tea leaves
