Honey Sticks from DAVIDsTEA

I’m often asked, “what do you put in your tea?” and my answer is usually always the same, “it depends on the tea.” Sometimes I feel like my answer right away should be “nothing. tea should have nothing added to it!” so I don’t get judged but let’s get real – my cup of tea is MY cup of tea, and I’ll make it however I wish to indulge in it! Although, it is rare for me to add milk to my tea these days, unless it’s a latte of some sort (of course). The additives I’m talking about are of the sweet kind: sugar, honey, rock sugar, etc.

The only time I’ll really have sugar in my tea is if I can’t find honey anywhere near me to add to it. I love raw honey, but any honey will do for me. My biggest love right now in that department? These guys:

These Honey Sticks come in a pack of ten and are packed with all natural, certified organic honey! They are available in three delicious flavours: peach, lemon, and cinnamon. I’ve only tried the lemon and have been hooked since. DavidsTea also has agave sticks that are available in natural, coconut, grapefruit, grape and lime flavours.

They are awesome for on the go and perfect amount to stir and melt right into one cup. “Uh, how much is enough?” was usually my problem beforehand when I would just use honey from a bottle. They honey sticks from DavidsTea have taken away that issue for me now and have made me sweeter than ever before. Another plus is that they are completely mess free! I was always horrible for spilling honey down the sides of the bottle and finding a pool of leaked honey on my shelf next time I went for some. Not anymore though!

However, there is one thing I would improve on this product. Right now, you have to actually cut the end of the stick and stir it in the cup to release the honey. I wish there was some way you could eliminate the cutting and the honey would be released instantly once inside the hot tea. I’m not sure how that would work, but I’ll leave that to David to find out 🙂

  1. Hi,

I love Honey Sticks too…and there is a super easy way to open them without scissors – just place one of the ends vertically between your teeth and bite down to “pop” it open just like you would a sunflower seed. Avoids messy scissor factor!
