tea tips: mending a broken nail

This is by far one of my most favourite, unique ways to use a tea bag other than for consumption of the delicious beverage. If you’re a woman, I’m sure you can agree with me when I say breaking a nail is possibly one of the worst things that can happen to you, at the worst times too. I can’t remember how many times I’ve grown my nails the perfect length and just one happens to break during a drive, doing dishes, etc. The first thought that comes to my head then is “Oh great, now I have to trim down all the other nine finger nails” but not after I found this great tea tip from The Art of Doing Stuff.

Here’s a snippet of her post for you to get the jist of the tip to try it out yourself. The only products you will need for this tip are:

– Scissors
– Super Glue
– Nail File
– Tweezers
– Tea Bag!

Steps:

Cut your tea bag to the size of the nail bed that’s broken.

Apply a small drop of Super Glue to your nail and spread it around so it covers your entire nail. Take your tweezers and carefully place the tea bag piece you cut on the surface of your nail covered in Super Glue.

Once the surface is covered, grab your Super Glue again and put another drop of glue on.  Spread it around. Now your broken nail is mended and all that is left is to buff your nail smooth once the Super Glue dries. Do this gently so you don’t tear through the tea bag. Apply a coat of clear nailpolish to only the mended nail. Once it’s dry, apply another coat to the mended nail, plus the rest of
your nails. This will help make it smoother for your nail polish application.
